| Swiss Dreams Made in Hollywood chronicles the private and professional life of 4 Swiss nationals who migrated to America chasing their dreams of working in Hollywood’s film industry. Maja Zimmermann, a director and producer, Ueli Steiger, a successful cinematographer, Chantal Hediger a young actress and Vincent Gillioz an award winning film composer. They all left their home country Switzerland to launch a career in L.A.’s predominant industry, the film business. Success or illusion, the documentary is exploring this question by asking each of them about their very personal experiences and encounters. Without beautifying, the 35-minute long documentary attempts to answers if America is still the land of opportunities. Is there a secret recipe on how to make it in Hollywood? The viewer also sees how the 4 Swiss started out, what they missed the most about Switzerland, how they adjusted to American mentality and how they got their professional ball rolling. Filmed and edited over the course of one and a half years, this documentary provides a fresh, sometimes-humorous look on how 4 Swiss individuals are trying to conquer Hollywood.
